Partner Code 128979 for AvaTrade: What You Actually Get

People message me about partner codes all the time. Usually the same question: can you get free trades or lower spreads?

Short answer: no. AvaTrade charges zero commission on forex. You pay the spread. That's your trading cost. A partner code doesn't touch it.

What 128979 does is unlock the welcome bonus. Additional trading capital depending on your deposit. Nothing more complicated than that.

What's the bonus amount?

A $1,000 deposit gets you $200.

$2,000 adds $400.

$5,000 to $9,999 adds $1,000.

Deposit $100,000+ and you can get up to $14,000. That's for serious capital.

UK traders funding in pounds start at £160 on £800. Top tier reaches £11,200.

Account minimum is $100. Bonus requires $1,000 minimum.

The code field isn't obvious

During registration. After you enter your phone number, look for small text that says "Have a Partner Code?" with an arrow next to it. Click the arrow. A text box appears. Type **128979**.

People overlook it constantly because it's hidden.

If you see an error, it's fine. Complete your registration. Reach out to your account manager first. Ask them to add code 128979. They handle this regularly.

You can't withdraw the bonus straight away

There's a volume requirement.

About 10,000 units for every dollar of bonus. A $200 bonus means trading 2,000,000 units before that $200 unlocks. Can take time with smaller position sizes. Regular trading gets you there sooner than you'd expect.

Your own money stays yours. Withdraw it whenever you want. Bonus funds remain locked until volume is met.

One thing worth knowing: the bonus adds to your available margin even when locked. This lets you take bigger positions. Newer traders benefit from that extra cushion.
